Welcome to Caerphilly Camera Club
Caerphilly Camera Club was established to encourage people, who have an interest in photography, to develop their skills so that they have a fuller understanding of how to take better photographs and what equipment is necessary to achieve those skills.
During the past ten years or so, the advances made via the medium of Digital Photography have revolutionised photography and made it much easier, in general, for most people to achieve good quality photographs with modestly priced equipment and even today's mobile phones.
At Caerphilly Camera Club, we recognise that people have different levels of photographic expertise and we share help and advice for everyone, through practical evenings in a friendly and sociable atmosphere. We encourage members to enter the monthly competitions (in both digital and some print competitions), which adds a competitive element to the hobby and has proven to result in a significant improvement in an individual’s ability to produce a higher standard of photography.
We welcome all new members. Club membership is made up of a wide-ranging age group, from professionals to novices with their first camera or smart phone, with a varied interest in photography styles. We offer a programme of events with regular competitions, practical evenings, critique evenings, photo walks and visiting photographers and speakers presenting their work and techniques. The programme of competitions is judged by external judges and include internal monthly competitions, external competitions including the Stanley Chell and Adrian Webster Memorial along with inter-club competitions.
Why not join us, meet some of the members and see for yourself? You are welcome to visit the club for 3 trial sessions before deciding whether you wish to join the club as a full member. We welcome all ages and genders, subject to being over 12 - please see the Club Rules and Constitution page for details.
Our internal competition winners together with all entries can be viewed on the Club Competitions Menu page.
