After several years of phone photography, I bought my first, budget DSLR camera in 2021.  My primary interest is in landscape photography which means getting out early, late, in the sun, the rain, the cold and the dark trying to capture a scene’s relationship with weather and light.  I also find the process of editing photos on my iPad to be relaxing after a busy day in work.  

I recently bought a used Nikon Z6 and have found that a mirrorless camera has really helped me get better quality shots, which means I can focus more on composition instead.

Being part of the Camera Club has encouraged me to explore other forms of photography such as macro, still life, portrait and street.  Seeing other people’s work, and receiving feedback on my own, has helped me to improve much more than I suspect I would have otherwise.
